Self pay patients
Insured
Attorneys
It is a well
known fact, that the uninsured pay more than a person who is
insured. An Insurance Company has an agreement with the hospital,
that lowers the price of each line item, while the uninsured
has no agreement.
Most
Americans have the idea that once they go to the doctor or hospital
and show their insurance card, they have to pay a co pay and
they are no longer responsible for the remainder of the charges.
Some even look at the insurance card as a type of credit card.
However, if you have ever read the agreement you sign, you will
probably see that the doctors office or hospital will state
that they only file insurance as a courtesy and you are totally
responsible for charges. You may be responsible for the charges,
however, are they all correct charges? If there are errors in
billing, do you think the office or hospital will correct the
error? Do you think that they will know that there are errors?
Do you think that they will look into any questions you may
have concerning the bill? When you get the insurance remit (insurance
explanation of benefits), do you compare the remit to the bill?
Do you understand what the insurance paid and what you are responsible
to pay?
The
world of medical billing is hard to understand, even for those
who are involved in it everyday. The billing rules and regulations
change and it is hard to keep up with all of the changes.
The
uninsured really have a disadvantage, they may not only have
errors, but in addition, higher prices than the insured.
If
you do not know where to turn, if you don’t know how to
figure it all out, we can help.
Feel
free to call or email to discuss how we can help you. Remember,
if we do not have the bill reduced, there is no fee.
80%
of all bills have errors
Have your
medical bills reviewed and if no errors are found or the total charged is not reduced, there is
no fee.
We work to help uninsured as well as insured to reduce medical
expenses by spotting billing errors.
Examples of
errors previously found:
Estate bills settled for $80,000 under billed amount.
Texas:
Hospital Bill for $147,594.75 when only $36,898.69 was billable.
Florida:
Coding errors amounting to $10,000.00 found and removed.
Nevada: ER bill for a woman who stayed over night but not admitted,
charged for admission, bill reduced $1800.00.
Washington DC: Surgery bill for a man having a colonoscopy was
reduced in half, saving him over $900.00.
According
to a study, uninsured patients pay more for hospital care than
insured patients. As a matter of fact, up to four times more.
Most people make too much to quality for charity care and unfortunately,
they are the ones who are charged the higher prices for medical
care.
Don't let the high cost of medical care be a burden to you.
